Ian Learmonth
Executive Director, Social Finance and Philanthropy

Ian joined SVA in 2011 to lead our Social Finance initiative. The team will play a much needed advisory and intermediary role in building and developing social finance in Australia.

Ian was formerly an Executive Director of Macquarie Bank for 12 years and has over 20 years of investment banking experience in Sydney, Hong Kong and London. He has been involved in establishing and leading a number of businesses including asset finance, direct investment (most recently in carbon and renewable energy including wind and solar projects) as well as corporate advice in the infrastructure sector.

Ian has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland and a Diploma from the Securities Institute of Australia.

Emily Martin

Senior Advisor

Emily joined SVA in 2012 to work within the Social Finance team. She brings with her experience in the Social Finance market gained through her work on Social Benefit Bond proposals within the non-profit sector.

Prior to her work in Social Finance, Emily was a Director and Portfolio Manager at Westpac Bank. She has over 10 years capital markets banking experience gained in Sydney and London. During her time in banking she has been involved in both investing and structuring of debt and equity investments, with a specific focus on structured credit products.

Emily has a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business from the University of Technology Sydney, and is a CFA Charterholder.

Natasha Morris
Development Manager

Natasha joined SVA in 2011 and is responsible for conducting investment analysis on prospective SVA Social Finance initiatives.

Natasha started her career as a finance lawyer with Mallesons, and moved into the investment sector in 2007 as an investment manager for the London office of Hastings Funds Management. More recently she gained relevant experience in the philanthropic sector performing due diligence work on a pro bono basis for the Impetus Trust, the pioneer of venture philanthropy in the UK.

Natasha holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws from the University of New South Wales.

Natasha is currently on maternity leave.
