| Susann Anna Office Manager, Melbourne and Team Coordinator Employment |
Susann joined SVA in October 2012 and brings experience in both non-profit and tourism sectors. She most recently worked at the Bicycling Empowerment Network (BEN) in South Africa implementing their social media strategy and assisting with BEN events, youth cycle safety training and the promotion of the bicycle in all its forms to address poverty alleviation. Before relocating to back to Melbourne via Cape Town, Susann spent eight years in Germany – the last five of which she was employed as the Operations Manager for the Berlin office of an international tour company. She is fluent in German.

Sonya is responsible for the day-to-day finance operations of Social Ventures Australia.
She has 15 years experience within the banking sector, most recently as Operations Manager for Lehman Brothers Australia where she was also involved in the establishment of a corporate philanthropic program.
| Michelle Bignell Administrator QLD |
Michelle Bignell joined SVA in 2010 as a part-time office administrator for the Queensland office and brings with her many years experience in administration, retail and finance reporting.
Michelle has recently completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Photography and is interested in areas of art therapy and creativity based community support. She has been involved in fund raising events for the local community and breast cancer support.

Anthea joined SVA in January 2012 as Office Manager in Melbourne and Co-ordinator for the Employment team.Anthea brings experience in both non-profit and corporate sectors, most recently having worked at Australian Volunteers International where she was project coordinator for the Pacific Technical Assistance Mechanism (PACTAM).Anthea has a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Brisbane Graduate School of Business, QUT and a Bachelor of Design Studies for Queensland College of Arts (QCA).
Anthea is currently on maternity leave.

Catherine joined SVA’s Marketing and Communications team in April 2008.She has over 12 years of marketing experience gained on both the client and agency side and most recently managed the Australian and New Zealand field marketing activities for a US-headquartered software firm.
Catherine holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Philosophy from University College Dublin.

Jo originally joined SVA in 2008 as Team Co-ordinator for SVA Consulting and now provides executive support to SVA’s CEO and a number of Executive Directors.Jo has over 10 years of experience as an Administrator/Personal Assistant including seven years in UK local Government and four years in Australia‘s recruitment industry in both an administrative and recruitment specialist capacity. Jo is active in the community having previously volunteered with City Care’s Street Teams program, which aims to build a bridge to the community through deliberate acts of kindness.

Susan is responsible for marketing and communications across SVA. She comes to SVA with deep experience in marketing and management with some of Australia’s biggest brands including The Smith Family and Scouts Australia NSW. She was responsible for the marketing launch of the Disney Channel in Australia, and went on to become Managing Director of Disney branded television in Australia/New Zealand.
Susan has worked with a number of smaller community sport organisations, and been involved with public education in her community.
Susan holds a number of qualifications, including a Diploma Law (SAB) from Sydney University, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Macquarie Graduate School of Management.

Annalisa joined SVA’s Marketing and Communications team in October 2009.She has over 15 years marketing experience gained across a diverse range of clients and agencies, working most recently with a boutique Sydney graphic design agency with a multinational client base.After having studied Arts/Law at Sydney University, Annalisa changed tack to qualify as a Homeopath and ran a private practice in Sydney for several years, before returning to marketing in 2001. She continues to be passionate about the transformative power of natural medicine on individuals and communities.
Ben Wood Financial Accountant |
Ben joined SVA in April 2013 and is responsible for ensuring compliance of SVA’s financial reporting requirements, and disseminating financial information to the SVA team to allow them to make informed decisions regarding the management of the organisation.
Prior to joining SVA, Ben undertook 17 months volunteer work with the Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development (AYAD) program in the Kingdom of Tonga, where he helped his counterparts at the Ministry of Finance in designing various aid project management tools to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of international aid being delivered to the Kingdom. Ben also assists with the financial management of a global not-for-profit student consultancy – 180 Degrees Consulting. Prior to identifying his passion for the social sector, Ben worked at BDO and Grant Thornton Chartered Accounting firms for six years in the Business Services division.
Ben has a Bachelor of Business (Distinction) from the University of Technology, Sydney and is studying towards his Chartered Accountants qualification.
