Duncan Peppercorn
Executive Director

Duncan leads the SVA Consulting team.

He has seven years of experience working with the international strategic consultancies McKinsey & Company and Bain & Company, and five years working as an independent consultant before joining SVA. Duncan has supported clients in resources, construction materials, consumer goods, telecoms, industrial products and financial services, as well as social enterprises and the arts.

He holds an MA (Hons) from Cambridge University.

Caroline Chernov
Consultant

Caroline worked for over ten years with Accenture’s Strategy Group in Australia, Asia, Europe and the US and has also served as Director of Strategic Planning and Global Expansion for New Sector (a US and Europe based non-profit organisation specialising in non-profit consulting and leadership development).

Caroline holds a BA (Hons) from The University of Melbourne and an MBA from the International Institute of Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland. She also holds a diploma in Managing Non Profit Organizations from Harvard University.

Gundula Coellen
SROI Analyst

Gundula joined SVA Consulting in 2009. She moved to Sydney from London, where she most recently assisted in the implementation of SROI methodology for a non-profit consulting firm, after having gained previous experience in fundraising and investor relations at a long/short equity EEMEA hedge fund.
 
Gundula holds a Bachelor of Economics in Business (Hons) from the University of Westminster.

Simon Faivel
Consultant

Simon joined the SVA Consulting team in August 2009 on secondment from the Venture Development team. 

Prior to joining SVA Simon traveled extensively, working and volunteering in challenging and remote locations including China, Papua (Indonesia), India and Australia. He has consulting experience in commercial and community sectors, having advised global resources companies, Australian utilities, an Aboriginal corporation and an Indian NGO. Previously Simon was a strategy consultant in Accenture's Resources Operating Group, advising clients on strategic and operational decisions. He has also started, owned and operated two companies.

Simon holds a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts (Hons. in Philosophy) from Monash University.

Jo Fenner
Coordinator

Jo joined SVA in 2008. She has over 10 years of experience as an Administrator/Personal Assistant including seven years in UK local Government and four years in Australia 's recruitment industry in both an administrative and recruitment specialist capacity.  Jo is a Street Teams volunteer through City Care. Street Teams aims to build a bridge to the community through deliberate acts of kindness that empower people to move forward in life.

Olivia Hilton
Consultant

Olivia is a former CEO of an Australian publicly listed communications company, where she devised, led and managed the company’s strategy and day-to-day operations, including a staff of 100 employees in five countries. She has extensive experience in strategy development, implementation, communications and operations. 



In 2007 Olivia turned her attention towards the non-profit sector and took up a position in Mozambique to work as a consultant for Technoserve, an American NGO focused on assisting entrepreneurial men and women in poor rural areas of the developing world to build businesses that create income, opportunity and economic growth.


Olivia holds a Bachelor of Business (Hons) from RMIT and a diploma in Financial Markets from FINSIA.

Prashan Paramanathan
Consultant

Prashan joined SVA Consulting in August 2009. Prior to joining SVA, Prashan worked for IFC Advisory Services, World Bank Group in Western China, where he supported the development of emerging commercial microfinance banks and new financial services regulation.
 
Prashan has also previously worked for Port Jackson Partners, a boutique management consultancy firm where he assisted an Australian high end retailer, a financial services joint venture and an oil and gas client on their strategic and operational decisions.
 
Prashan holds a Bachelor of Mechatronic Engineering (University Medal, First Class Honours) and a Masters of Biomedical Engineering from the University of New South Wales.

Lisa Rudner
Consultant

Prior to joining SVA Consulting in 2008, Lisa worked for Capgemini Consulting, where she assisted clients in the public, telecommunications, FMCG, energy and financial services sectors through strategic and operational transformations. She designed and developed Capgemini’s corporate pro bono program delivering consulting services to non-profit organisations.

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (First Class Hons) from the University of New South Wales.

Jo Scott
Consultant

Jo joined SVA Consulting in 2009. Prior to joining SVA, Jo spent four years as a consultant for Booz & Company where she supported clients across a variety of sectors to develop strategies and identify operational improvements. Jo also has extensive experience working with both social and environmental based non-profit organisations, having provided pro bono advice for groups such as Special Olympics Australia and Cape York Institute, and having previously held the role of Head of Strategy for the Great Barrier Reef Foundation.


Jo holds a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering (University Medal, First Class Honours) from the University of New South Wales.

Elise Sernik
Consultant

Elise has held management positions in non-profit and for-profit organisations in both Australia and the UK. In her previous role as General Manager of Nonprofit Australia Elise seeded a range of programs, including a mentoring program for non-profit chief executives. Prior to this she was Assistant Director of Fundraising and Marketing for Asthma UK.

In her previous career as a media specialist Elise managed program distribution for BBC Worldwide (Sydney) before moving to London where she lead an interactive media joint venture and provided consulting services to some of the UK’s largest media companies.

Amy Stevens
Consultant

Amy joined SVA Consulting in 2009 after returning to Australia from Prague, Czech Republic, where she worked on the launch of a new Clean Energy Investment Manager.
 
Amy also previously worked for the Boston Consulting Group in Sydney and Chicago where she helped clients in the educational, airline, consumer and industrial goods industries with strategic and operational change.
 
Amy holds a Masters in Business Administration with Distinction from INSEAD and a Bachelor of Arts and Commerce with Honours from Sydney University.

Amy is currently on maternity leave.

Cathy Truong
Consultant

Cathy's extensive experience in the non-profit sector includes roles as the Capacity Builder Manager for the Foundation for Young Australians and as an Executive Director of Our Community Pty Ltd. This experience offered invaluable insights into the operations of non-profit organisations.

Prior to this, she held senior positions in the corporate sector including Co-Founder & Product Director for Wishlist.com.au and as Senior Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers Management Consulting (Telecommunications & Information) in the Melbourne, New York and Hong Kong offices.
