Impact Funds pool the capital of a range of investors and use it to invest in the growth of a portfolio of social enterprises.

Investment may be in the form of a loan or equity stake.  The investment parameters will vary by fund, but the critical criteria for investment are:

  • The enterprise must have a capacity to generate sufficient revenue to repay the loan or grow the value of the business; and
  • The enterprise must have the capacity to generate positive social outcomes.

Currently, SVA manages two Impact Funds:

The Social Impact Investment Trust and the SVA Social Impact Fund are currently seeking high impact enterprises to invest in.

The SVA Social Impact Fund is closed to new investors. The Indigenous Social Enterprise Fund (ISEF) is closed for investee applications. In partnership with Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) and Reconciliation Australia (RA), ISEF was a two year pilot ending in September 2015.
