Este is a Consultant with Social Ventures Australia. Prior to joining SVA, Este was a lawyer practising in financial services at top-tier law firms, before moving to the public sector where she worked in human rights strategy and policy.

Most recently, Este was Director of Regulation and Strategy at the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, the federal data regulator. Este led the office’s engagements with the public, private, start-up and non-profit sectors, where she advised on the design and implementation of new data projects and initiatives, with a particular focus on emerging technologies and big data.

Este holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical)/Law (1st class hons) from the University of Melbourne, and was awarded a public service Australia Day Medal in 2013. In 2016 she completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ governance training for non-profit boards. Este is the founding director of a Private Ancillary Fund, is a director of Force Majeure and Beyond Empathy, and sits on the advisory committee for the Australian Chamber Orchestra. Este has also assisted Philanthropy Australia with the design of NewGen, a national program to connect and develop emerging leaders in Australian giving.
