Indigenous Desert Alliance

The Indigenous Desert Alliance sought to develop an Indigenous-led philanthropic funding model that brings together philanthropists and more than 60 Indigenous ranger teams to deliver globally significant, nature positive projects.

VACCHO

A strong and able workforce is critical to VACCHO’s ability to provide sufficient care. So in its 5-year Victorian Aboriginal Health and Wellbeing Workforce Strategy, VACCHO identified data-informed workforce planning and development as a priority and engaged SVA Consulting.

Australian Unity

In 2022 and 2023, Australian Unity was recognised for their leadership in measuring social impact for their work. In this case study, we explore how SVA Consulting and Australian Unity measured impact of a 180-year old organisation with 14 business units offering 90 products and services.

The SVA team helped us to gain valuable insight to better understand the impact of our remote services from all perspectives, most importantly the people, communities and organisations we work alongside… This work has helped us to quantify our impact over time.
The impact report allows us to clearly articulate what our role is in the communities we support, to use it to inform investment decisions and opens us up to multiple new and innovative opportunities. It will enable us to consider each decision through a community value lens and remain focused on the holistic impact of our portfolio.
Critical to the success of the project was the deep, trusting working relationships developed between SVA, VACCHO and our workforce members. Without this trust, and the time invested by staff at VACCHO and our members, critical data needed to develop projections would not have been available.
SVA have been a very supportive partner for the J2E program… As the program has evolved, there has been a journey not only for the participants, but a collaborative journey between the J2E staff and SVA, all aimed at improving the outcomes for our people.
Our membership tasked us to develop a model, which is directly responsive to servicing the strategic aspirations of Traditional Owners in the desert to care for their Country. Working with SVA’s team has enabled us to develop a robust structure which supports this vision, whilst providing the opportunity and security to funders to invest in Indigenous driven conservation projects, backed and supported in their delivery by the IDA.
We are changing the tactics of Balanda (non-Indigenous) education to suit Bininj (Indigenous) learning.
