Philanthropy Australia Blueprint

Throughout 2020 and 2021, SVA Consulting worked with Philanthropy Australia, the peak body for Australia’s philanthropic community, on an ambitious project to grow the culture of structured giving in Australia.

Kanyirninpa Jukurrpa 10-year evaluation

For their 10-year evaluation, KJ took a Martu-led approach to telling their story.

With Martu dictating the evaluation criteria, SVA Consulting worked with KJ to measure the performance of their programs against the outcomes most meaningful to Martu.

Disability housing outcomes framework

What does good look like for disability housing?

SVA Consulting partnered with leading SDA and SIL providers, people with disability and key stakeholders to codevelop a common outcomes framework to understand the impact of housing and in-home supports on the lives of people with disability.

We are really indebted to SVA for assisting us to put together the business case for the Centre for Muslim Wellbeing. Despite the challenges presented by the pandemic the approach and care employed by the team really gave us some clear insights, goals and a path forward to make our vision a reality.
[The evaluation] enabled us to examine existing processes, documents, and training opportunities to, among other things, develop a more structured and inclusive approach to reunification between Communities staff and contracted service providers and continually improve on delivering positive outcomes for Western Australians. The process itself was transparent and conducted throughout in a culturally sensitive way. The analysis in the final report was comprehensive and inclusive, ensuring the recommendations were insightful and practical.
SVA’s 10 year evaluation of our impact on Martu communities has been a seminal piece of work not only for us as a Martu organisation, but also for Indigenous policy, evaluation and program design at a sector level. The evaluation demonstrated a genuinely indigenous-led approach that truly put the Martu voice at the centre. A great example of an evaluation done in-line with the Productivity Commission’s recent Indigenous Evaluation Strategy 2020.
I want to acknowledge the incredible and quality effort SVA have made in working with Philanthropy Australia to develop our Blueprint to Grow Structured Giving. They have gone over and above in terms of their commitment to delivering a clear and actionable plan as well as ensuring key stakeholders were brought along on the journey.
The SVA 10 year evaluation gave Martu the opportunity to tell us and mainstream Australia what is important to them and for future programs affecting their communities to be measured against that standard. We have again been very impressed with the capability and commitment of SVA’s consultants. They have the skill to balance the need for robust and rigorous evaluation with the empathy required to be reactive to the needs and rhythms of remote communities.
St Vincent’s Care Services has a bold vision to support people with experience of homelessness. Our journey toward this vision has involved working with SVA Consulting to assess and scope the operating and service model. The team's work has provided strong analytical rigour alongside a clear commitment to social impact.
