On our 20th anniversary, SVA asks ‘what will it take to get disadvantage to zero’ in Australia?

20 years ago, four social sector organisations got together to found Social Ventures Australia. Our mission was to encourage a transformation in the way we address disadvantage by accelerating the development of innovative ideas that deliver better social outcomes.

While a lot of things have changed since then, we are as committed today as we were 20 years ago to an Australia where all people and communities thrive.

As an organisation created by the social sector, for the sector, we can think of no better way to mark the milestone than by interrogating the question, ‘what will it take to get disadvantage to zero in Australia?’

The biggest lesson from our two-decade history is that real change happens when we work in partnership. So we invite you to join us over the course of this year, to share your ideas, experiences and wisdom on what you think is needed to get disadvantage to zero.
