We work to improve the lives of people in need in Australia and currently prioritise our work in education, employment, housing and with First Australians.
Our unique approach focuses on understanding the structural causes behind persistent disadvantage, then finding and supporting the innovative approaches that can create systemic change. Our practice is evidence-based, a discipline we apply to every facet of our organisation.
We are the leading practitioners of venture philanthropy in Australia, having pioneered the approach since our establishment over a decade ago. We provide grant funding, expertise and networks to support organisational transformation and the development of new ways to tackle social change.
Our impact investing products provide repayable capital to fund growth of organisations with proven models and we’re working with governments in Australia and overseas on social impact bonds to help fund and promote system-wide change.
Finally, our advisory work provides social purpose organisations, philanthropists and governments with strategy and measurement and evaluation consulting to improve their service delivery and support better giving. We work with corporates to develop their community engagement and employment strategies and also provide policy and impact investing advice to organisations interested in improving their relations with government or exploring social finance.
As part of our commitment to driving system change, SVA has developed a series of perspectives in our four focus areas. For more information, please read the SVA Perspectives.
