David Williams

David Williams joined SVA as an Executive Director in 2017, supporting Ventures as well as Strategy and Business Development. David Currently leads the Ventures and Partnerships teams, including initatives such as Evidence for Learning and the Bright Spots School Connection.

He has over 20 years’ experience working in the private and for-purpose sectors, spanning diverse roles from global senior management to field operations. In the for-purpose sector, David has worked with a wide range of organisations and partners to contribute positively to the lives of those experiencing disadvantage.

Prior to joining SVA, David worked for over a decade with the international development nonprofit organization TechnoServe, in operational and strategic roles across the USA, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and continues to support TechnoServe as a Senior Advisor. Previously, David was a business consultant with Bain & Company in Australia, Spain and Korea in diverse sectors and competencies. He also worked at the Sydney-based private equity firm Pacific Equity Partners and advised the Brazilian foundation Fundação Brava and founded a social enterprise in Tanzania to support community development and marine conservation.

David holds a Bachelor of Economics (Honours 1st Class) and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of New South Wales, Sydney.
