Erin Corbyn

“I want to live in a world where all children, regardless of background or circumstance, leave school with the fundamental skills needed to achieve their potential. At SVA, I get to collaborate with partners who are doing the work to make this a reality.”

Erin is an Associate Director in The Connection team. The Connection brings together highly experienced educators and emerging leaders to leverage their expertise and address common challenges within schools.

Erin is the team’s programmatic lead, responsible for managing the careful co-design and curation of around 15 bespoke events per year. She also leads the Regional, Rural and Remote school hub, supporting them to address the ‘wicked issues’ unique to their contexts. During the pandemic, Erin was responsible for the development of a Connection digital collaboration platform. This was instrumental in helping schools remain connected in this challenging time.

Erin brings extensive on-the-ground experience to the role having worked for eight years as a primary teacher and school leader in both the UK and Australia. Prior to starting at SVA, Erin worked as a Principal at the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL), leading the Highly Accomplished and Lead Teacher (HALT) program. From this role, she brings a policy lens to her thinking and a strength in developing relationships with stakeholders at a system level as well the profession.
