Kathy joined Social Ventures Australia (SVA) in July 2017 as Team Coordinator, Bright Spots Schools Connections (The Connection). The Connection supports exceptional school leaders in disadvantaged schools to improve the outcomes of their students.
As a community sector professional with a strong belief in social justice, Kathy’s career has specialised in social and financial inclusion; in particularly the growth of microfinance in Australia, community development and women in microenterprise. She has worked extensively with newly arrived and First Australian communities in direct service delivery through to senior management. Her work has included government, corporate and community stakeholder management, the development of accreditation frameworks, and training development and facilitation.
Prior to joining SVA, Kathy worked for a number of social purpose organisations including The Brotherhood of St Laurence, The Salvation Army and Good Shepherd Microfinance.
Kathy holds qualifications in Community Development and owns an online business called PIROSKA that ethically sources handcrafted products from Hungary and Eastern Europe.
