Maia Ambegaokar

‘I firmly believe that management matters. Implementation – what some people dismiss as a ‘black box’ – is the essential link between savvy strategy and high-impact outcomes. So, whether I am assisting an organisation to establish its vision or helping to evaluate results, I always have my eye on the practical operations between those two.’

Maia joined SVA as Director, Consulting, bringing twenty-five years’ experience in the social sector. She leads client engagements, manages consulting teams and provides strategic and intellectual guidance as required across strategy, implementation and evaluation.

Prior to joining SVA, Maia worked as a management consultant and policy adviser in health, international development and women’s rights. She has held executive and managerial positions at Abt Associates in Australia, Planned Parenthood in the United States and the World Health Organisation in Switzerland. Maia served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Togo and has worked in over 20 low and middle-income countries in Africa and Asia-Pacific. She has advised governments, companies, non-profit organisations, community groups, research institutions, international donors and multilateral agencies.
