Rebecca Parkinson

Private sector and blended capital can be an effective tool for systems change when deployed carefully. I am passionate about ensuring the design and delivery of innovative structures and tailored financial services are rigorously focused on addressing disadvantage, and growing opportunities for people experiencing vulnerability.

Rebecca is a Director in the Impact Investing team at SVA, with experience investing debt and equity in private markets, designing and evaluating alternative financial instruments, impact investment strategies, and outcome, measurement and monitoring frameworks. She leads the SVA Diversified Impact Fund, and is responsible for growing the growing the pool of capital mobilised for social enterprises in Australia.

Rebecca is an experienced impact investor having spent over 15 years deploying blended return-seeking capital into social enterprises across South and South-East Asia – working across financial inclusion, women’s empowerment, employment, sustainable agricultural production, nutrition and food security, clean energy and ethical apparel.

Prior to SVA, Rebecca created and managed loan portfolios to impactful enterprises in Impact Investment Exchange’s SG-listed US $100m Women’s Livelihood Bond series, and spent time with Opportunity International Australia investing into microfinance institutions.

She holds a Masters of Professional Studies in International Agriculture and Rural Development from Cornell University in the USA, a Masters in Development Studies from UNSW, and a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Commerce from the Australian National University.
