Richard Johanson

Richard is a Consultant with Social Ventures Australia. He works with organisations to help them design strategies to tackle difficult social challenges and maximise their impact.

Richard’s work at SVA is incredibly diverse, ranging from developing strategies to scale employment programs to creating business cases for specialist health institutes and creating funding strategies for large foundations. Richard is passionate about partnering for impact, leveraging technology for social good and ensuring universal access to high quality education.

Prior to joining SVA, Richard spent six years working for IBM within their Strategy & Analytics practice. He specialised in business process analysis, solution implementation, and project management. While at IBM, Richard helped clients across the financial services, telecommunications, utilities, government, and natural resources sectors.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he graduated with Honours. He is a StartingBloc Fellow, an Urban Leaders Fellow and a World Economic Forum Global Shaper.
