‘Many things in our society are broken. SVA gives me a chance to try and influence our society so that it is a little less broken. The work is meaningful and the people are passionate (about the right sort of things). SVA is one of my homes, and has been for over 10 years.’

Simon is a Director in the Consulting team having been with SVA since 2007. Simon’s focus is on managing to outcomes and he leads SVA’s work on Social Return on Investment (SROI). He is an accredited SROI trainer and practitioner (click here for training dates). Simon is also the Chair of the Social Impact Measurement Network of Australia (SIMNA), co-Chair of Social Value International (SVI) and is on the international SROI Network Methodology Sub-Committee.

While at SVA he has worked on numerous high profile projects, most recently a large-scale evaluation of five Indigenous Protected Areas for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet – which was highlighted in the Productivity Commission’s 2016 Overcoming Indigenous Disadvantage Report.

Prior to joining SVA, Simon was a strategy consultant at Accenture, a management consulting firm. He has also started, owned and operated two companies. Simon has travelled extensively, working and volunteering in challenging and remote locations in China, Papua, India and Australia. He holds a BSc. and BA (Hons. in Philosophy) from Monash University.

Simon has shared his expertise in several informative articles including a breakdown of managing to outcomes and his insights from working with Indigenous organisation Kanyirninpa Jukurrpa.
