Steph Shorter

Steph joined SVA in Perth in 2014 as our first consultant on the ground in Western Australia. Since joining, Steph has worked closely with non-profit, government and corporate clients on a range of strategic planning and outcomes management projects across early childhood development, youth justice, out of home care, mental health, Indigenous disadvantage and affordable housing.

Steph has worked with a number of social purpose funders, such as BHP Billiton, the Department of Corrective Services, the WA Housing Authority and Woodside, to develop and implement outcomes management approaches. Steph has shared her expertise on why and how corporate funders should manage to outcomes in a recent SVA Quarterly article.

Her recent non-profit clients have included MercyCare, St Vincent de Paul Society WA, St Bartholomew’s House, Silver Chain Group, St John of God Health Care, Pew Charitable Trusts and Kanyirninpa Jukurrpa. Steph also supports SVA’s broader objectives in WA and has hosted a number of events on topics such as effective collaboration and outcomes management.

Before joining SVA, Steph worked as a Senior Strategy and Operations Manager for Deloitte Consulting working with leading WA organisations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their operations. During this time she also led the Deloitte Foundation in Perth.

Prior to Deloitte, Steph worked as a Strategy Manager for Cancer Research UK, the world’s largest independent cancer research charity and also in a variety of commercial roles for BP.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with Management from the University of Bath, UK.

Steph is currently on maternity leave.
