Anglicare WA

Anglicare WA Outcomes Reporting Tool

Objective

SVA Consulting was engaged to provide the Board of Anglicare WA with structured, quality reporting on the outcomes being achieved by the organisation.

Role we played

In conjunction with Anglicare WA, SVA Consulting:

  • Worked with the Board to develop a draft organisational theory of change and organisational level Outcomes Management Framework
  • The framework articulated and defined outcomes that Anglicare WA was seeking to achieve and mapped how the various services across the organisation were contributing to these outcomes
  • Ran a pilot project to develop a bottom up excel-based model and process to collect data at the program level and then consolidate up into a Board level dashboard tool
  • We created rules and a traffic light system for each indicator to allow the aggregation of the outcomes into a handful of small meaningful measures

Impact

This work set a foundation for Anglicare WA to increase the sophistication of their approach to outcomes and to start setting evidence-based performance targets. Since project completion, Anglicare WA have been further rolling out and testing the methodology. As they gather actual data they have become more thoughtful about performance standards and have started to engage staff to reflect on the outcomes being achieved and using that information to improve services to clients. The Board can now also participate in this discussion in a more engaged way and have access to outcome metrics alongside traditional operational and financial metrics.
